YOSHIWARA · TOKYO

Where is Yoshiwara?

Yoshiwara is the name commonly used for the area around Senzoku 4-chome in Taito City, in northeastern Tokyo. There is no Yoshiwara Station. The best station depends on your destination and the last part of your journey.

01

Where is Yoshiwara?

Tokyo Station is farther south; Ueno and Asakusa are closer points of reference. Minowa, Iriya and Uguisudani are nearby rail stations. Ueno is a useful arrival hub when coming from elsewhere in Japan.

02

Choose the final leg before choosing a station

  • From Minowa or Iriya, walking may work if you have your exact destination and are comfortable with the route.
  • From Ueno or Uguisudani, a taxi can be simpler with luggage, at night or in rain.
  • A shop pickup is available only when that particular shop offers it. Confirm its meeting point while booking.

03

Finding the district entrance

At the district entrance, Mikaeri-yanagi and the Yoshiwara Omon site help you orient yourself. The original gate is gone; do not expect a standing historic gate.
